LA, being the most heavily populated city in California, can be taxing at times. I recently finished up a two month internship working for The Inertia, in Venice. Living in the Arts District of Downtown LA, I had to take I-10W over to Venice every morning. LA is rightfully notorious for its traffic... it was the worst I'd ever seen. I made a habit of waking up at 5am to get on the road early - to get in a good surf before work, and evade the traffic.
One morning I surfed South Bay and then met up with Dane Zaun for lunch and an interview outside his home. He reminded us of what proper adventure is, and, well... really made me want to go on a backpacking trip down Central America.
